Here are the steps with headers:
Step 1: Access the Import Menu Click the drop-down menu next to "New Contact" to access the import options.
Step 2: Select Bulk Import Choose "Bulk Import" from the menu to initiate the data import process.
Step 3: Upload Your CSV File A new page will appear, allowing you to upload your CSV file containing the list of contacts.
Step 4: Use Our Sample CSV For convenience, you can click "Use our sample CSV" if you prefer to use our preformatted CSV template. Once your file is uploaded successfully, you'll receive a confirmation message.
Step 5: Map CSV Fields In the next page, you'll find the "Map the Fields" section. If you're using our sample CSV, headers are automatically mapped. If not, you'll need to match the headers with the corresponding fields in our database.
Look for a green tick mark in the 4th column to confirm field mapping. Any missing required fields are displayed in the top-right corner.
Step 6: Configure Import Settings Below the Mapping section, you'll encounter the "Settings" option. Here, you can provide answers to these 4 questions:
For contacts already in Sprouts, choose whether to update with CSV information, not update, or fill in missing values from the CSV.
If contact ownership is missing or incorrect, set the default owner from the list of users/admins in the database (admin functionality only).
For existing contacts assigned to an owner, select whether to update ownership or skip.
If a contact stage is missing or incorrect in the CSV, set the default stage as Cold/Not Started, Replied Interested, or Approaching.
Step 7: Import and Confirm After mapping the necessary columns and configuring how to import data, click "Import." Your data will be imported into the database and reflected in the Contacts and Accounts tabs.
The Import Logs allow you to track and review the status of your data imports. After completing an import, you can view detailed logs that show whether the process was successful or if any errors occurred. The logs provide information on the number of records processed, any failed imports, and specific error messages that help you troubleshoot issues, such as missing fields or incorrect data formats. If needed, you can download the import log as a CSV file for further analysis or re-import failed records after correcting any issues in your CSV file. This feature helps ensure a smooth import process and allows you to easily manage and resolve any data import challenges.
